| It's no surprise that
the fruit and vegetables group is first and foremost in the new Canada's
Food Guide in terms of daily servings. Rich in vitamins, minerals,
antioxidants and fiber, fruit and vegetables are a veritable long-term
health insurance policy. Brimming with color and flavor, most have the
added benefit of being low in calories and fat.
With the new Canada’s Food Guide and its targeted approach to healthy
eating, the 5 to 10 a day program launched a campaign entitled MY Fruit
& Veggies. This program has been developed to support the focus of the
Food Guide related to fruits and vegetables and to aid Canadians in
improving their diets to include the recommended daily number of
